Meet the Founder
Dr. Carolina Herbert — PhD, Integrative Arts Psychotherapist (UKCP), Clinical Supervisor (UKCP), Trainer (PGCE), Life-Cycle Celebrant.
Carolina is a psychotherapist and creative arts practitioner with over 25 years of experience working in some of the most challenging places in the world. She spent over a decade in Cambodia where she co-founded the country's first Creative Arts Therapy institute and worked alongside organisations like Save the Children, the UN, and the Red Cross. She has worked with communities navigating war, displacement, and trauma across Asia, the Middle East, Turkey, India, and beyond — including supporting humanitarian workers and frontline staff in conflict zones.
Alongside her clinical work, Carolina has spent years supporting organisations to develop healthier, more humane cultures — consulting on staff care, psychological safety, and organisational wellbeing with NGOs and international bodies operating in crisis contexts. She is also a UKCP registered clinical supervisor, postgraduate thesis advisor, and a Life Cycle Celebrant.
She has presented her research internationally and is now bringing all of that wisdom home to Wales to create Blue Pearl — the UK's first nature-inspired expressive arts therapy institute. Her vision is to anchor the work in Wales while continuing to support the development of practitioners and cultural leaders internationally.
